The Milwaukee Brewers jumped on Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the Los Angeles Dodgers early on Monday night, and a 7-4 Game 2 win gives them a 2-0 lead in the NLCS. Teams have gone a historical 8-51 when trailing 2-0 in the League Championship Series. The series now shifts to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Wednesday, after a night off for both clubs.
In the late game, the Cleveland Guardians waited out Tampa Bay Rays starter Drew Rasmussen, then put on an offensive display against the bullpen for a 7-3 win in Game 1 of the ALCS.
How the teams reached the Championship Series
The Dodgers eliminated the Atlanta Braves, the Brewers beat the San Diego Padres, the Rays knocked out the New York Yankees, and the Guardians escaped the Chicago White Sox. The Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies were already eliminated in the best-of-three Wild Card Series.
